# Indonesia’s 2026 wage subsidy (BSU): status, 2025 rules and official checks

**Has the 2026 BSU wage subsidy been paid, who qualifies, and where can I check officially?**

As of 14 October 2026 the government has announced a 2026 wage subsidy (BSU) of Rp300,000 a month for three months, paid in one go (Rp900,000), for about 13.3 million workers, but the ministerial regulation and payment dates have not been issued. The only confirmed criteria are those of the 2025 round under Manpower Minister Regulation 5/2025, such as active BPJS Ketenagakerjaan membership and a wage of no more than Rp3,500,000. You do not register for BSU yourself and there is no fee; the list of candidates comes from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

## What to have ready

- Your national identity number (NIK) on your e-KTP; BSU is only for Indonesian citizens.
- Your BPJS Ketenagakerjaan membership number (KPJ) and proof that you are an active wage-earning member.
- A payslip showing basic pay and fixed allowances, because the BSU wage limit uses those components.
- An active bank account in your own name, preferably with BRI, BNI, Mandiri, BTN or BSI.
- An active phone number and email for an account on the official Kemnaker site.

## How to follow and check BSU

1. **Check the status of BSU 2026.** As of 14 October 2026 BSU 2026 had only been announced by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. No new ministerial regulation on BSU 2026 appears in the Kemnaker or BPK legal databases, and no payment date has been announced. Follow official Kemnaker announcements before trusting any schedule you see.
2. **Check your BPJS Ketenagakerjaan membership.** BSU candidates are drawn from active BPJS Ketenagakerjaan members. Make sure your employer pays contributions and reports your wage correctly. If you are not registered, ask your HR department.
3. **Compare your wage with the BSU limit.** For BSU 2025 the limit was Rp3,500,000 a month, or the city/regency minimum wage (UMK) rounded up to the next hundred thousand where the UMK is higher. The wage counted is basic pay plus fixed allowances as last reported by your employer to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. The 2026 limit has not been set.
4. **Check status only on official channels.** Kemnaker says official BSU information is published only on bsu.kemnaker.go.id and Kemnaker’s official social media. For BSU 2025, status could also be checked through the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan site or the Pospay app for those paid through the Post Office. Type the address yourself; do not open links from forwarded messages.
5. **Wait for a transfer or a Post Office notice.** Under the rules and 2025 practice, BSU is transferred to the recipient’s account through state-owned (Himbara) banks or BSI. Recipients with account problems are served by PT Pos Indonesia using a QR code from the Pospay app, bringing their original e-KTP and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan card.
6. **Ask about data problems or report scams.** If you think you qualify but your data are wrong, ask HR to correct your wage and bank details at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. Kemnaker’s call centre is 1500630. If you fall for a fake link, contact your bank at once and report it to the police.

## How much BSU pays and what it costs

BSU is free and does not require self-registration. Kemnaker stresses that the whole process is free and needs no middleman or agent. The announced BSU 2026 amount is Rp300,000 a month for three months, paid at once, for a total of Rp900,000.

BSU 2025 and BSU 2026, checked 14 October 2026. The 2026 column only shows what the government has announced; everything else is not yet set.

The 2026 figures come from Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs press releases of 30 September and 4 October 2026. The 2026 criteria, wage limit, schedule and paying banks will only be certain once the ministerial or implementing regulation is issued. Anyone who receives BSU without meeting the criteria must repay it to the state treasury (Article 10 of Manpower Minister Regulation 10/2022).

## Status of BSU 2026 on 14 October 2026

On 30 September 2026, after a meeting at the State Palace, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs said the government would again pay a wage subsidy (BSU) once for a three-month period at Rp300,000 a month, aimed at about 13.3 million workers with a budget of almost Rp12 trillion. A press release of 4 October 2026 repeated the same figures as a fourth-quarter 2026 programme.

That announcement is not yet a regulation. As of 14 October 2026 the list of wage-subsidy regulations in the Kemnaker and BPK legal databases still ends with Manpower Minister Regulation 5/2025 for BSU 2025. We also found no Kemnaker announcement of a payment date, criteria or wage limit for BSU 2026. In January 2026 Kemnaker said there was no BSU 2026 policy yet and that any new policy would be announced openly through official channels.

So the criteria circulating for BSU 2026 are in fact the 2025 criteria. They may stay the same or change, for example the month by which you must be an active BPJS Ketenagakerjaan member and the list of city minimum wages used.

## BSU 2025 criteria under Manpower Minister Regulation 5/2025

BSU 2025 was governed by Manpower Minister Regulation 5/2025 (issued 2 June 2025, in force 3 June 2025), which amended Regulation 10/2022 on wage-subsidy guidelines. The criteria were: an Indonesian citizen with a NIK; an active BPJS Ketenagakerjaan member up to April 2025; and a wage of no more than Rp3,500,000 a month. Civil servants (ASN), members of the armed forces (TNI) and police officers were excluded. Workers not receiving the Family Hope Programme (PKH) were given priority.

The wage counted is the latest wage reported by the employer to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, meaning basic pay and fixed allowances. If you work in an area whose UMK is above Rp3,500,000, the limit becomes that UMK rounded up to the next full hundred thousand; where no UMK is set, the provincial minimum wage (UMP) is rounded up instead. Examples in the annex to Regulation 5/2025: Bekasi City Rp5,700,000 and Medan City Rp4,100,000, based on 2025 UMKs.

BPJS Ketenagakerjaan verifies data on active members and then passes the list of candidates to Kemnaker, which checks it again and makes the final decision. Workers therefore do not fill in a registration form themselves. Employers that report false data can be sanctioned.

## How BSU is paid

Under Article 8 of Manpower Minister Regulation 10/2022, BSU funds are paid by the State Treasury Service Office through the paying banks and post office: BNI, BRI, BTN, Mandiri, Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) and PT Pos Indonesia. The money is transferred to the recipient’s account. Any funds not paid out by the end of the budget year go back to the state treasury.

For BSU 2025, Kemnaker paid through Himbara banks and BSI. Recipients without an active account, or whose account had problems, were served by PT Pos Indonesia through the Pospay app: once status and personal details were matched, the system issued a QR code to collect the money at a post office, bringing the original e-KTP and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan card. Payment for BSU 2026 will follow rules that have not yet been issued.

## How to spot fake BSU links and messages

Kemnaker stresses that BSU does not require self-registration and that official information is published only on bsu.kemnaker.go.id and Kemnaker’s official social media; any other site is fake. In 2025 Kemnaker found a phishing site (one built to steal data) that used a name resembling Kemnaker’s but ended in .com.

Signs of a fake message: it asks you to register or fill in a BSU form, asks for an administration fee, asks for your PIN, OTP code or a photo of your KTP over WhatsApp or Telegram, sends an app file (.apk), or uses an address that does not end in .go.id. Never give personal data to an unofficial site. If you have already handed over data or money, contact your bank at once and report it to the police.

## Things to check carefully

- Assuming BSU 2026 will definitely be paid on a particular date. As of 14 October 2026 the rules and schedule had not been issued.
- Registering for BSU through a link in a forwarded message or on social media. BSU does not require self-registration.
- Paying an administration fee or an agent to speed up BSU. The whole process is free.
- Assuming the 2025 criteria will be the same in 2026, when the membership cut-off month and wage limit may change.
- Leaving a wrong bank account number or wage record at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, which can delay payment or divert it to the Post Office.

### Can workers earning more than Rp3.5 million get BSU?

Yes, under the 2025 rules, if they work in an area with a UMK above Rp3,500,000. The limit then becomes the UMK rounded up to the next hundred thousand, for example Rp5,700,000 in Bekasi City. The 2026 rules have not been issued.

### Which banks pay BSU?

Previous rounds were paid through BRI, BNI, Mandiri, BTN, BSI and PT Pos Indonesia (Regulation 10/2022 and 2025 practice). The paying banks for BSU 2026 have not been set.

### Can informal workers or ride-hailing drivers get BSU?

Not under the 2025 rules, unless they are active BPJS Ketenagakerjaan members in the wage-earner category and within the wage limit. The BSU 2026 criteria have not been announced.
