# Jambi vehicle tax 2026: rates, online checks and payment

**How much is vehicle tax in Jambi, and how do I check and pay it?**

Jambi's vehicle tax (PKB) rate is 1% for a first vehicle, with no progressive rate, plus a 66% opsen for the regency or city. Check and pay annual tax in the national SIGNAL app, or at a Samsat office. Late payment incurs 1% interest a month for up to 24 months.

## How to check and pay Jambi vehicle tax online

Use the 'Cek Pajak' button on Bapenda Jambi's official website (https://bapenda.jambiprov.go.id) and enter the plate number (e.g. BH 1234 XY). Bapenda's own checker page (/layanan/cek-pajak) said it was under repair on 25 September 2026, and the E-Samsat Jambi payment site (esamsat.jambiprov.go.id) did not load. Private owners can check and pay annual PKB in the national SIGNAL app (Korlantas), which lists Jambi.

## Jambi vehicle tax relief in 2026

**Program Pemutihan Pajak Kendaraan Bermotor 2026 (HUT Kemerdekaan RI ke-81).** Ran 18 August 2026–30 September 2026 and has ended.

However many years a vehicle is in arrears, the owner pays only one year of PKB principal (the current period); the older principal arrears and PKB late fines (denda) are waived, and SWDKLLJ fines for past years are waived too. Extra cuts to the PKB principal: 5% for two- and three-wheelers and 2.5% for four-wheelers paid before the due date, and 7.5% for owners doing a transfer of ownership (balik nama/BBNKB). Available at Samsat offices, Gerai Samsat and mobile Samsat (Samkel) across Jambi. The official posts publish no exclusions. The programme ended on 30 September 2026. Bapenda Jambi said it was reviewing an extension (ANTARA, 21 September 2026), but no decision had been announced by 1 October 2026.

- Bapenda Jambi held a prize draw for owners who paid PKB on time; its official Instagram announced winners on 19 August 2026. This is a reward, not a tax reduction.

## Penalty for paying Jambi vehicle tax late

Late PKB incurs interest of 1% a month for up to 24 months, with any part of a month counted as a full month; the same applies to opsen. The SWDKLLJ contribution has its own fine of 25% to 100% of the annual amount, capped at Rp100,000. (Provincial basis: Perda Provinsi Jambi Nomor 5 Tahun 2024 Pasal 75 ayat (1) (bunga 1% per bulan dari pajak terutang yang tidak atau kurang dibayar, dihitung dari tanggal jatuh tempo sampai tanggal pembayaran, paling lama 24 bulan, bagian dari bulan dihitung penuh 1 bulan, ditagih dengan STPD). ### What is the PKB rate in Jambi, and is there a progressive rate?

Under Jambi Provincial Regulation (Perda) No. 5 of 2024, Article 8, the PKB rate is 1% for the first vehicle and every further one, so there is no progressive rate; 0.5% applies to public transport, ambulances, fire engines, social/religious bodies and government vehicles. This has applied since 5 January 2025. Opsen PKB of 66% for the regency/city is added on top of PKB. Some Bapenda web pages still mention progressive rates; the Perda is what applies.

### Is there a Jambi vehicle tax amnesty (pemutihan) in 2026?

There was, but it has ended. The amnesty ran from 18 August to 30 September 2026 for Indonesia's 81st Independence Day: however long the arrears, owners paid one year of PKB principal; PKB fines and past-year SWDKLLJ fines were waived, with a further 5% (two/three-wheelers) or 2.5% (four-wheelers) off the PKB principal for paying before the due date, and 7.5% for transfers of ownership. Bapenda Jambi said it was reviewing an extension, but no decision had been announced by 1 October 2026; watch Bapenda Jambi's official account (@bapenda_jambi_prov).

### What is the late-payment penalty for PKB in Jambi?

Jambi Perda No. 5 of 2024, Article 75(1), sets interest of 1% per month on the unpaid or underpaid tax, from the due date, for at most 24 months, with part of a month counted as a full month. The '2% per month' shown on some Bapenda web pages does not match the Perda.
