**How much is vehicle tax in Riau Islands, and how do I check and pay it?**

Riau Islands' vehicle tax (PKB) rate is 1.05% for a first vehicle, with no progressive rate, plus a 66% opsen for the regency or city. Check the bill through ESamsat KEPRI, and pay annual tax there or in the national SIGNAL app. Late payment incurs 1% interest a month for up to 24 months. 2026 relief programme: 10 August 2026–31 October 2026.

Bapenda Kepri website: 'Info Pajak Kendaraan' at https://bapenda.kepriprov.go.id/info-pajak (enter the plate number and the last 4 digits of the chassis number; tick 'Balik Nama' for a transfer). Pay online with the official ESamsat KEPRI app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=esamsat.kepri) or the national SIGNAL app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.signal.id). No official WhatsApp or SMS check service was found.

## Riau Islands vehicle tax relief in 2026

**Pemutihan Pajak Kendaraan Bermotor 2026.** Running 10 August 2026–31 October 2026.

100% of PKB administrative sanctions; 50% of PKB principal arrears (not the current tax year); 100% of BBNKB II (used-vehicle transfer); 100% of SWDKLLJ fines except the current year. Extra PKB principal discount of 5% when paying via e-Samsat or SIGNAL, or 3% at a Samsat counter. 50% off 2026 PKB principal for vehicles moved in from outside Kepri. Originally to 30 September 2026; extended to 31 October 2026 on the Governor’s instruction, according to the head of Bapenda Kepri quoted by Harian Kepri on 30 September 2026 (no decree number published; not yet on an official provincial page).

### Other 2026 reductions

- Standing 2026 PKB insentif announced by Governor Ansar Ahmad (Diskominfo press release No. 78/PR/II/2026, 20 Feb 2026): 10% keringanan on PKB for two-wheelers and 5% for four-wheelers (2025: 13.94% for both), and 20% on BBNKB. No Pergub number or period stated.

## Penalty for paying Riau Islands vehicle tax late

Late PKB incurs interest of 1% a month for up to 24 months, with any part of a month counted as a full month; the same applies to opsen. The SWDKLLJ contribution has its own fine of 25% to 100% of the annual amount, capped at Rp100,000. (Provincial basis: Pergub Kepulauan Riau No. 55 Tahun 2024 (Petunjuk Pelaksanaan Pemungutan Pajak Daerah) Pasal 16 ayat (2); Perda Kepulauan Riau No. 1 Tahun 2024 Pasal 91 ayat (2) delegates administrative sanctions to a Pergub.)

PKB is 1.05% of the tax base (Perda Kepri No. 1/2024, Article 7), the same for a first or later vehicle; the Perda sets no progressive rate. Public transport, ambulances, fire engines and government vehicles pay 0.5%. A 66% opsen PKB for the regency/city is added.

### Is there a Riau Islands vehicle tax amnesty (pemutihan) in 2026?

Yes.
