# Riau vehicle tax 2026: rates, online checks and payment

**How much is vehicle tax in Riau, and how do I check and pay it?**

Riau's vehicle tax (PKB) rate is 1% for a first vehicle, with no progressive rate, plus a 66% opsen for the regency or city. Check the bill through Bapenda Riau Mobile or BRKS Mobile, and pay annual tax there or in the national SIGNAL app. Late payment incurs 1% interest a month for up to 24 months.

## How to check and pay Riau vehicle tax online

Bapenda Riau's web checker at https://bapenda.riau.go.id/dashboard/layanan/infopajak: enter the plate number (e.g. BM 1234 XX) and the last 5 digits of the chassis number (nomor rangka) to see an estimate of PKB, opsen PKB, SWDKLLJ and fines; Bapenda says the figure is an estimate. The Bapenda Riau Mobile app (https://bapenda.riau.go.id/mobileapp) shows tax information and due dates. To pay online, private owners can use the national SIGNAL app (Korlantas), which lists Riau.

## Riau vehicle tax relief in 2026

**Pemutihan Pajak Kendaraan Bermotor HUT ke-69 Provinsi Riau.** Ran 1 August 2026–31 August 2026 and has ended.

Owners with PKB arrears of 2 years or more paid only the most recent year of arrears plus the current year; all older unpaid PKB principal and all administrative fines (denda) were written off. Available at all Samsat offices in Riau. No exclusions were published in the official announcements. Ended on 31 August 2026; the province said on 3 September 2026 it may consider another such incentive but announced no date.

### Other 2026 reductions

- Bapenda Riau, Ditlantas Polda Riau and Jasa Raharja ran a prize draw (gold bars and a motorcycle) for owners who paid PKB on time; period II covered payments from 1 April to 30 June 2026 and was drawn on 27 July 2026. This is a reward, not a tax reduction.

## Penalty for paying Riau vehicle tax late

Late PKB incurs interest of 1% a month for up to 24 months, with any part of a month counted as a full month; the same applies to opsen. The SWDKLLJ contribution has its own fine of 25% to 100% of the annual amount, capped at Rp100,000. (Provincial basis: Perda Provinsi Riau Nomor 2 Tahun 2024 Pasal 72 ayat (7) (bunga 1% per bulan, paling lama 24 bulan, bagian bulan dihitung penuh); Pasal 72 ayat (9) delegates any change in the sanction amount to a Peraturan Gubernur.)

### What is the PKB rate in Riau, and is there a progressive rate?

Under Riau Provincial Regulation (Perda) No. 2 of 2024, Article 7, the PKB rate is 1% for vehicle ownership, and 0.5% for public transport, ambulances, fire engines, social/religious bodies and government vehicles. The Perda sets no progressive rate. Opsen PKB of 66% for the regency/city is added on top of PKB.

### Is there a Riau vehicle tax amnesty (pemutihan) in 2026?

Yes, from 1 to 31 August 2026 for Riau's 69th anniversary, under Riau Governor Decree No. Kpts.511/VII/2026. Owners in arrears paid only the latest year of arrears plus the current year; older principal and all fines were written off. It ended on 31 August 2026 and no new programme has been scheduled.
