Ride-hailing app fee checker

Compare the gap between a trip fare and your earnings with the 8% cap on app fees for passenger rides. The result is something to check, not a verdict.

English edition. Official forms and source documents may be in Indonesian.

QUICK ANSWER

Is my ride-hailing app taking more than 8%?

For passenger rides, the app fee is capped at 8%; this has applied since 1 July 2026 through a Transport Minister’s decree and was adopted in Perpres 27/2026. Enter the trip fare and your earnings from the trip details in the app to see the gap as a percentage. The gap can include other items, so a result above 8% means something to check, not a definite breach; the cap for goods and food delivery still awaits a Komdigi ministerial regulation.

How the checker works

The checker subtracts your earnings from the trip fare and divides the gap by the fare. For passenger rides, the result is compared with the 8% app-fee cap announced by the Ministry of Transportation, in force since 1 July 2026.

The numbers you enter are calculated on your device. The checker cannot see what is in your trip details, so use the result to check those details, not as proof.

Gap = trip fare − your earnings Gap share = gap ÷ trip fare

Calculator limits

  • The 8% cap applies to passenger rides. For goods and food delivery, the rule had not been issued as of 14 October 2026.
  • The gap between fare and earnings is not always the same as the app fee; other items may be included.
  • The full text of Perpres 27/2026 was not yet in the official legal databases as of 14 October 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Does a result above 8% mean the app is breaking the rules?

Not necessarily. The gap between fare and earnings can include items other than the app fee, such as insurance, tax or promotions. Check the trip details, then ask the app through its official channel if it is still unclear.

Where do I find the fare and earnings figures?

In the trip details in your app. Use the figures for the same trip so the comparison is accurate.

Does the 8% cap apply to food and goods couriers?

Not yet. Delivery fees for goods and food will be set by a regulation of the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, which had not been issued as of 14 October 2026.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The numbers are calculated on your device and are not sent to Panduan Warga.
