English edition. Official forms and source documents may be in Indonesian.

QUICK ANSWER

Who can have Indonesia’s free health check in 2026, how do I book it, and what happens after the results?

The free health check (Cek Kesehatan Gratis, CKG) is a no-cost health check from the Ministry of Health for every age group, from newborns to older people, and is open to people with or without JKN (BPJS Kesehatan) health insurance. Since Health Minister Decree HK.01.07/MENKES/84/2026 took effect on 9 February 2026, you no longer have to wait for your birthday: you can choose any date, at most once a year, by booking in the SATUSEHAT Mobile app, through the official Ministry of Health WhatsApp number 0811-1050-0567, or by going to a puskesmas with your KTP, child ID card (KIA) or family card (KK). Children aged 7–17 are checked at school through CKG Sekolah.

Guide contents

What to have ready

  • A phone with the SATUSEHAT Mobile app, or WhatsApp to message the official Ministry of Health number 0811-1050-0567.
  • Your KTP, child ID card (KIA) or family card (KK).
  • The Mother and Child Health book for babies and pre-school children, and the Older People’s Health book if you have one.
  • An active WhatsApp number to receive your ticket and results report.
  • A note of the medicines you take and your medical history, for the self-screening questionnaire.
  • If you are 40 or over: a plan to fast for 8–10 hours before the check, drinking only water.

How to book a free health check

  1. Download and sign in to SATUSEHAT Mobile

Install the SATUSEHAT Mobile app from an official app store and sign in. The Ministry of Health asks people to have a SATUSEHAT Mobile account because the app handles reminders, appointments, results and health advice.

  2. Register and choose a date

Choose the ‘Fitur’ (Features) menu, then ‘Pendaftaran’ (Registration). Tap ‘Lengkapi Identitas’ (Complete your details), fill in your personal details and save. Choose a date, enter an active WhatsApp number, choose your puskesmas, check the details, tick the consent box and save. Your appointment ticket will be issued.

  3. Complete the self-screening

Tap ‘Isi Skrining’ (Fill in screening) below the ticket and answer the questions about your current health before the day of your check. Health workers use your answers to review your health history and decide on extra tests for people at risk.

  4. Register family members if needed

Babies, pre-school children, older people, disabled people or anyone who cannot register themselves can be registered by a parent, guardian or relative, for example through a linked profile in SATUSEHAT Mobile. You can change the date or place you chose through the ticket menu with the ‘Ubah’ (Change) button.

  5. Turn up on the day

Bring your KTP, KIA or KK, the Mother and Child Health book for small children, the Older People’s Health book if you have one, and your ticket in the app or on WhatsApp. People aged 40 or over are advised to fast for 8–10 hours beforehand, and older people are advised to bring a companion.

  6. Read your results and follow up

A health worker explains your results, any treatment you need, lifestyle changes and when to come back. Your full results are sent by WhatsApp and can be viewed in SATUSEHAT Mobile under Rapor Kesehatan (Health Report).

Cost of the free health check and follow-up

Free. Under Health Minister Decree HK.01.07/MENKES/84/2026, CKG is given to all Indonesian residents in the target groups, whether or not they are JKN members, and is funded from the national budget, regional budgets or other lawful sources. For prompt treatment in the community, the Ministry of Health says medicines for high blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol can be given free for the first 15 days where medically indicated, after which treatment continues through JKN.

CKG target groups, example tests and places under Health Minister Decree HK.01.07/MENKES/84/2026 and the SATUSEHAT Mobile help centre, checked 14 October 2026. The tests you get depend on your age, sex and risk factors.

Official sources differ: a SATUSEHAT Mobile FAQ last updated in August 2025 asks for BPJS Kesehatan to be active for at least a month before the check, while the newer Decree 84/2026 says CKG is given to JKN members and non-members alike. We follow the decree. The same decree still asks people who are not JKN members, or whose membership is inactive, to register or reactivate it so that any health problem found can be treated.

Who can take part and the 2026 rules

CKG began on 10 February 2025. Since 9 February 2026 it has been governed by Health Minister Decree HK.01.07/MENKES/84/2026 on CKG technical guidelines, which revoked Decree HK.01.07/Menkes/33/2025 on free birthday health checks. The target groups are newborns (at 2 days old), babies and pre-school children (1–6), school-age children and teenagers (7–17), adults (18–59) and older people (60 and over).

For young children, adults and older people, CKG takes place once a year on a date the participant can choose. The SATUSEHAT Mobile help centre, updated in May 2026, confirms that CKG can be done at any time without waiting for your birthday, at most once a year. You do not need a referral letter, and people living away from the address on their KTP can choose the nearest puskesmas.

Pregnant women and babies aged 1–11 months do not use this route; they get health checks on the standard schedule for antenatal and infant care. For 2026 the Ministry of Health aims to reach 130 million people with CKG; by 31 July 2026 it had recorded 73.8 million participants.

How to register: the app, WhatsApp or in person

The main route is the SATUSEHAT Mobile app. If you have trouble, message the official Ministry of Health WhatsApp number 0811-1050-0567, choose Cek Kesehatan Gratis, then choose 1 if you already have a ticket (to complete the self-screening) or 2 if you do not (to register). Decree 84/2026 lists a different WhatsApp chatbot number; we use the number in the SATUSEHAT Mobile help centre, updated in July 2026.

You can also go straight to a puskesmas with your KTP or KK. At the puskesmas, fill in the form at ayockg.kemkes.go.id or scan the QR code on the CKG guide poster: choose “Daftar dengan Data Diri” (Register with your details) if you have never registered, or “Lanjutkan dengan No. Tiket” (Continue with ticket number) if you have a ticket. If you have no phone, staff will enter your details; if you have no ID card, staff use a guardian’s or companion’s NIK.

The Ministry of Health sends CKG messages only from the official WhatsApp number 0811-1050-0567. If you receive a CKG report without ever registering, follow the instructions in that message to contact the puskesmas listed, or write to helpdesk@kemkes.go.id. Do not register through links or numbers circulating on social media.

CKG at school, at work and in the community

CKG Sekolah covers all pupils at primary, junior and senior high school or equivalent (SD/MI, SMP/MTs, SMA/MA/SMK), including special schools (SLB), pesantren and Sekolah Rakyat, and takes place at school. Parents or guardians register their child through a linked profile in SATUSEHAT Mobile by choosing the school and class; you cannot choose the date because checks follow the puskesmas visit schedule. Children who are not in school or have no national pupil number (NISN) are registered for general CKG.

For formal-sector workers, CKG can take place at the workplace health facility; for informal workers, at an occupational health post (Pos UKK) or another place agreed with the puskesmas. CKG can also be held at Posyandu, in the community and at universities.

Decree 84/2026 also says that anyone who comes to a puskesmas or its network for any service is offered the CKG package, as are people applying for a certificate of good health. Screening for non-communicable disease, older people and mental health, which used to run separately, is now done as a full CKG, and HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B and anaemia tests for couples about to marry are provided within CKG.

Results and follow-up

Follow-up depends on the result. If everything is normal with no risk factors, you are asked to have CKG again next year. If you have risk factors such as being overweight or underweight, smoking or not moving enough, you get advice and counselling. Pre-disease conditions such as prehypertension, prediabetes and obesity are managed to standard so they do not become disease.

If a disease is found, the puskesmas or primary care facility treats it within its competence or refers you to a hospital in line with the rules. According to the Ministry of Health, medicines for high blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol can be given free for the first 15 days where medically indicated, then continue through JKN. So make sure your JKN membership is active; you can check it in Mobile JKN.

If CKG took place outside a health facility and was incomplete, participants are asked to complete it at a health facility within 30 days. For problems with registration or results, use the SATUSEHAT help centre or contact Halo Kemenkes on 1500-567 or helpdesk@kemkes.go.id.

Things to check carefully

  • Waiting for your birthday to register; birthday-based CKG was revoked on 9 February 2026.
  • Skipping CKG because you think you need active BPJS Kesehatan; CKG is for JKN members and non-members alike.
  • Registering through links or WhatsApp numbers shared on social media; the official Ministry of Health WhatsApp number is 0811-1050-0567.
  • Turning up without completing the self-screening, or without fasting if you are 40 or over.
  • Ignoring pre-disease results such as prehypertension or prediabetes because you feel well.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to wait for my birthday for the free health check?

No. Since Decree HK.01.07/MENKES/84/2026 took effect on 9 February 2026, CKG can be done at any time on a date you choose, at most once a year. The old birthday-based rule has been revoked.

Do I need BPJS Kesehatan to take part in CKG?

No. Decree 84/2026 says CKG is given to JKN members and non-members alike. However, the Ministry of Health asks people to register for or reactivate JKN so that treatment and referrals for any problem found are covered.

How do I register for CKG on WhatsApp?

Message the official Ministry of Health WhatsApp number 0811-1050-0567, choose Cek Kesehatan Gratis, then choose 2 if you do not have a ticket and follow the steps. If you already have a ticket, choose 1 to complete the self-screening before your appointment.

Can I register my child or my parents?

Yes. Babies, pre-school children, older people, disabled people and anyone who cannot register themselves can be registered by a parent, guardian or relative, for example through a linked profile in SATUSEHAT Mobile.

What does CKG check?

It depends on age, sex and risk factors. Adults, for example, have blood pressure, blood sugar, nutrition, teeth, eyes, ears, mental health, tuberculosis and hepatitis B and C checked; women from 30 get breast and cervical cancer screening, and from 45 there is lung and bowel cancer screening.

Do I need to fast before CKG?

Yes, if you are 40 or over. The Ministry of Health advises fasting for 8–10 hours beforehand, taking nothing but water; after the laboratory tests you can eat and drink again.

How does CKG work for schoolchildren?

Pupils from primary to senior high school or equivalent, including SLB, pesantren and Sekolah Rakyat, are checked at school through CKG Sekolah when the puskesmas visits. Parents register their child through a linked profile in SATUSEHAT Mobile; children not in school or without an NISN are registered for general CKG.

What happens if CKG finds a disease?

The puskesmas treats it within its competence or refers you to a hospital in line with the rules. According to the Ministry of Health, medicines for high blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol can be given free for the first 15 days where medically indicated, then treatment continues through JKN.
