Choose an Indonesian visa for the activity you will actually undertake, not only for the intended stay length. A visit visa does not automatically permit work; a family visa is neither a passport nor citizenship. Check the Immigration catalogue and apply through official e-Visa.

Costs and timing
Official Immigration examples: B1 visa on arrival Rp500,000 for an initial 30 days; C1 tourism Rp1,000,000 for an initial 60 days; E33G remote worker Rp7,000,000 for one year; E28C investor Rp13,000,000 for five years or Rp19,500,000 for ten. B1 is available only to eligible nationalities. Check the live e-Visa invoice; extension charges differ.

A useful category map
Visit visas cover tourism and specified activities; paid work, education and family reunion have separate routes. E31A is a family route for a spouse of an Indonesian citizen, while E28B/E28C concern investment and E33G remote work.

- Do not use a visit visa for work requiring work permission.
- Visa approval does not guarantee admission; border officers assess entry conditions.
Frequently asked questions
Does marrying an Indonesian give me an Indonesian passport?
No. A foreign spouse keeps their nationality passport; residence and naturalisation are separate procedures.
