Activate IKD: Indonesia’s digital population identity
Prepare your phone and contact details for IKD activation, understand Dukcapil verification, and protect your identity account and activation codes.

Identitas Kependudukan Digital (IKD) uses the official app and verification by Dukcapil. Prepare your phone, accessible email and active number. Registering on the phone alone does not complete activation; follow the official verification and QR steps.

Steps you can follow
Check the activation service
Confirm the location and schedule through local Dukcapil.
Get the official app
Use the authorised app-store listing for Identitas Kependudukan Digital.
Register and verify
Follow the instructions for NIK, email, number and facial verification.
Complete officer verification
Attend the designated service and follow the QR verification process.
Activate your account
Open the activation email and complete account/PIN setup.
Costs and timing
IKD activation is free.
Check current requirements, availability and charges through the official reference ↗ before paying or travelling.
Make sure you can access your own email
Check the address and your ability to open it on the phone before attending. If using someone else’s device, ask how your identity account and privacy will remain under your control.
Confirm a service location through official local announcements. A private message displaying a Dukcapil logo is not evidence that the sender is authorised.
Keep control of the identity account
Enter activation codes and your PIN yourself within the official process. If you need help, explain the problem without posting codes or screenshots containing them.
After activation, learn to open the identity and sign out. Ask the receiving agency how it accepts digital identity for your particular service. Keep physical documents safe; an app display does not automatically satisfy every procedure.
IKD Plus and local outreach
Dukcapil’s 18 September 2026 explanation describes IKD Plus for officers/operators and verified agents assisting field activation. Official outreach can therefore bring activation closer to residents. Confirm the assignment and schedule with local Dukcapil; this is not a reason to install an app received through an unsolicited private message.

- Do not install APK files sent by unknown WhatsApp contacts.
- Never disclose your PIN or activation code.
- Confirm outreach services with Dukcapil.
