What to prepare
- A Family Card with correct details.
- The application form provided by your local official service.
- Marriage evidence if applying below 17 on that basis.
Steps you can follow

Check the name, NIK, birth details and address.

Use the form and supporting documents for your application type.

Attend the document and biometric checks yourself.

Keep the receipt and follow the collection notice.
Costs and timing
KTP-el issuance is free. Travel and copying expenses are separate from a government issuance fee.
Check current requirements, availability and charges through the official reference ↗ before paying or travelling.
First recording, replacement and correction are different
Choose the service matching your situation. A lost card, damaged card or data correction is not automatically a first recording application. Explain the circumstances so the officer can give the relevant checklist.
National guidance for a new KTP-el for an Indonesian citizen mentions form F-1.02 and a copy of the Family Card. Obtain forms through official services. If underlying information is wrong, request correction with genuine evidence rather than editing a document yourself.
Plan the visit and follow-up
The designated location may be a Dukcapil office, subdistrict unit or another announced service. Check appointment requirements, hours and how results are communicated locally; another district’s schedule is not a national promise.
Record the application number and recording date. If the card is delayed, give those details when following up. Check the issued card before using it for another application. You can ask Dukcapil about later IKD activation.
Things to check carefully
- First biometric recording cannot be delegated.
- Use the replacement route for a lost or damaged card.
- Do not enter a NIK into an unidentified identity-checking website.
