Costs and timing

Check current requirements, availability and charges through the official reference ↗ before paying or travelling.
Choose the correct document route
A first application needs identity and supporting family or birth evidence. An intact existing passport with unchanged data may qualify for simpler replacement requirements. Lost or damaged documents need their own examination; do not select expiry merely to avoid that process.
Read the child checklist separately, including parental identity and relationships. Ask the office what is needed if parents cannot attend together, are divorced or have another family circumstance.
Check the bill and appointment before paying
An issue fee may not represent every applicable cost. Compare the validity and service actually offered, retain payment evidence and do not assume a payment can be moved to another application type without a procedure.
If you cannot attend, check the app or office rescheduling rules. Allow time for examination, issue and checking the finished passport before travel.
Things to check carefully
- Do not rely on outdated fee FAQs.
- Uploads do not replace bringing original documents.
- Priority hours, quotas and turnaround times differ between offices.
Frequently asked questions
Does ordinary replacement require a KK?
For eligible domestic passports issued after 2009, the ordinary replacement checklist can use KTP-el and the latest passport. Lost, damaged, changed-data and other cases have different requirements.
What if my passport is lost?
Contact Immigration for the special examination process and the required police loss report and supporting documents.
Can a child receive a ten-year passport?
The cited Immigration guidance specifies five-year validity for children. Use the child requirements.
