QUICK ANSWER

How much is vehicle tax in Central Kalimantan, and how do I check and pay it?

Central Kalimantan's vehicle tax (PKB) rate is 1.2% for a first vehicle, with no progressive rate (Bapenda’s official calculator uses an effective 0.904% after a governor’s decree of 24 December 2024 lowered the rate billed), plus a 66% opsen for the regency or city. Check the bill through Samsat Huma Betang, and pay annual tax there or in the national SIGNAL app. Late payment incurs 1% interest a month for up to 24 months.

The PKB rate is set by the provincial regulation. Since 5 January 2025 regencies and cities also charge an opsen of 66% of the PKB on the same notice. The combined column is simple arithmetic before any regional discount or tax-base reduction.

How to check and pay Central Kalimantan vehicle tax online

Install Bapenda Kalimantan Tengah's official Samsat Huma Betang app (Google Play and App Store) to look up your PKB and pay it online; Bapenda says payment works through the Himbara banks (Mandiri, BRI, BNI, BTN) and some private banks. Private owners can also use the national SIGNAL app (Korlantas), which lists Kalimantan Tengah: register yourself and your privately owned vehicle, pay PKB and SWDKLLJ, and receive the e-TBPKP and electronic STNK endorsement. The Bapenda website (https://bapenda.kalteng.go.id/) has no bill lookup; its 'Kalkulator Pajak' only gives an estimate from the NJKB printed on the STNK, the vehicle type and its use. Samsat offices also have E-Pahari self-service payment kiosks.

  • SIGNAL (Samsat Digital Nasional) ↗ — National Samsat app for paying the annual PKB and SWDKLLJ online and getting an e-TBPKP; Kalimantan Tengah is one of the 27 provinces it lists (no. 22). Published on Google Play by Korlantas Polri - Pembina Samsat Nasional (updated 22 Jul 2026); private (non-company) owners only.
  • Samsat Huma Betang (Bapenda Kalimantan Tengah) ↗ — Bapenda Kalimantan Tengah's own app for looking up PKB information and paying PKB online. It is linked from the Bapenda website, and Bapenda's FAQ says payment works through the state-owned (Himbara) banks and some private banks. Google Play developer: Badan Pendapatan Daerah Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah, updated 12 Aug 2026; also on the Apple App Store. The input fields it asks for are not described on the listing and were not tested.

Only use the official apps and numbers above. Samsat and Bapenda never ask for payment into a personal account.

Central Kalimantan vehicle tax relief in 2026

No 2026 relief programme was found on official sources.

Other 2026 reductions

  • A PKB principal reduction and late-fine waiver under Governor Regulation 12/2026 ended on 22 July 2026 (Bapenda Kalimantan Tengah; the regulation text, start date and discount sizes were not published).
  • Vehicles powered by renewable energy (for example battery electric vehicles) are outside the PKB object under Perda 8/2023 Article 6(2)(d).
  • Standing rate relief (unconfirmed for 2026): according to Bapenda's head on the provincial portal, a Governor's Decree of 24 December 2024 lowered the PKB and BBNKB rates for all vehicle types from 5 January 2025. The decree text was not found, but Bapenda's 2026 online calculator uses a reduced effective PKB rate of 0.904% (plus 66% opsen), which suggests the relief still applies.
  • Gebyar Reward Betang Patuh 2026 (draw held 28 July 2026): gold and household-appliance prizes for taxpayers who paid PKB on time. A draw in January 2026 gave 15 motorcycles to taxpayers with 10 years of on-time payments. These are rewards, not tax reductions.

Penalty for paying Central Kalimantan vehicle tax late

Late PKB incurs interest of 1% a month for up to 24 months, with any part of a month counted as a full month; the same applies to opsen. The SWDKLLJ road-accident contribution has its own fine of 25% to 100% of the annual amount, capped at Rp100,000.

Provincial basis: Pergub Kalimantan Tengah Nomor 51 Tahun 2024 tentang Tata Cara Pemungutan Pajak, Pasal 12 ayat (2): late or short payment of PKB incurs 'sanksi administratif berupa bunga sebesar 1% (satu persen) per bulan dari Pajak terutang yang tidak atau kurang dibayar atau disetor', counted from the due date to the payment date, for at most 24 months, part of a month counted as a full month, billed by STPD. No 'kenaikan' surcharge applies to PKB. The clause refers to the deadline 'sebagaimana dimaksud dalam Pasal 11 ayat (1)', but the annual PKB deadline is in Pasal 10 ayat (2) (paling lambat 1 hari sebelum masa pajak berakhir); Pasal 11 is about reconciliation. Pasal 12 ayat (1) sets the same 1%/24-month interest for late filing of the SPOPD (registration or re-registration form). Perda Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah Nomor 8 Tahun 2023 sets no PKB-specific late-payment rate; its 1%/24-month clause (Pasal 72 ayat (4)) covers corrected self-assessment returns (SPTPD), not PKB..

Frequently asked questions

How do I check my vehicle tax in Central Kalimantan online?

Use Bapenda Kalteng's official Samsat Huma Betang app (Google Play and App Store) to look up your PKB and pay it online; payment works through the Himbara banks and some private banks. Private owners can also use the SIGNAL app (Korlantas), which lists Kalimantan Tengah. The bapenda.kalteng.go.id website only has an estimate calculator based on the NJKB on your STNK, not a bill lookup. Samsat offices also have E-Pahari self-service payment kiosks.

What is the PKB rate in Central Kalimantan, and is there a progressive rate?

Under Central Kalimantan Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 8 of 2023, Article 8, PKB is 1.2%, and the Perda sets no progressive rate, so a second or further vehicle is not taxed at a higher rate. Public transport, employee and school transport, ambulances, fire engines, social/religious bodies and government vehicles pay 0.5%. Opsen PKB of 66% for the regency/city is collected on top of PKB. Bapenda has said a Governor's Decree of 24 December 2024 lowered the rate, so the PKB actually billed may be below 1.2%; the decree text has not been found.

Is there a Central Kalimantan vehicle tax amnesty (pemutihan) in 2026?

There was, but it has ended. Bapenda Kalteng ran a 2026 programme reducing PKB principal and waiving PKB fines under Central Kalimantan Governor Regulation No. 12 of 2026, which Bapenda's official Instagram said would end on 22 July 2026. The size of the reductions and the regulation text were not published. As of 25 September 2026 no new programme has been officially announced; check Instagram @bapenda.kalteng and bapenda.kalteng.go.id.

What is the late-payment penalty for PKB in Central Kalimantan?

Central Kalimantan Governor Regulation No. 51 of 2024, Article 12(2), sets interest of 1% per month on the unpaid or underpaid tax, from the due date to the payment date, for at most 24 months, with part of a month counted as a full month. Annual PKB must be paid no later than 1 day before the tax period ends (Article 10(2)); if the due date falls on a holiday, paying on the next working day carries no penalty.
